Red Means STOP!
Because safety is our prime concern, the City of San Bernardino invested in "Crossing Guard" technology to try to help prevent injury or death at intersections with red light enforcement cameras. When the camera system predicts a red light violation the "Crossing Guard" software warns the traffic signal controller (located at the intersection) and the controller will hold all directions of travel on red for one extra second. This is not a promise that a collision will not happen. But, it is a step towards protecting our citizens.
