Thanksgiving at the Animal Shelter Brings
Delicious Meals and Joy to Over 220 Dogs!
150 volunteers of all ages and the staff at the City of San Bernardino Animal Shelter had a great time serving a special meal of ground turkey, rice, vegetables, and pumpkin muffins for 220 excited dogs early on Thanksgiving morning.
This marks the second year in which the Animal Shelter Thanksgiving was held.
“Shelter animals are the most vulnerable population of pets, and we think every person AND every pet deserves a hot Thanksgiving meal,” said Animal Service Director Kris Watson.
A group of volunteers from Stater Bros and Stater Bros Charities were also on hand to help in more ways than one. In addition to helping to prepare the food, they presented Mayor Helen Tran and Animals Services Director Kris Watson a $7,000 check to help support the programs at the Shelter. Thank you to Kevin Mackey and his team from Stater Bros!
