Meeting to be Held December 6 to Discuss
Plans for the East Side Skate Park
A community meeting will be held from 6:00 - 7:30 pm on Tuesday, December 6 at Norman F. Feldheym Library to discuss plans for the new East Side Skate Park located at the Speicher Family Memorial Park in San Bernardino. Feldheym Library is located at 555 W. 5th Street in San Bernardino.
Representatives from the City Parks and Recreation Department, along with Newline Skateparks, the designers of the park, will be on hand to seek input from community members, particularly residents who regularly use the city's skate parks.
The skate park at Speicher Park was closed earlier this year after falling into disrepair. The City budgeted $650,000 to design and build a new skate park.
Two meetings with East Side skaters were held this summer to provide input that helped city officials select a design firm to oversee this project.
Construction on the new park is expected to begin in early 2023.
